I was just curious about oil pressure in my car. At idle hot its 25p.s.i . Now while driving down the street, just at 1/4 throttle it jumps all the way up to 75p.s.i and stays there all the way through W.O.T. Ive noticed that when cold, i have to sit longer than normal i feel cause oil pressure is at like 85 p.s.i
What do you think is up with these numbers? Too high? My oil pressure sender is in line with the turbo feed line as well so dont know if thats a bad spot or not?

Im not sure of the actual milage on my car since it was a theft recovery and the guy i got it from got it back with no running gear or cluster or anything so....

I did do a Melling HV oil pump and put the 70lb spring in there...dont know if that has anything to do with it but may be some help.

Your oil pressure pick up point is fine. I will assume you do not have your bypass blocked so high OP isn't going to blow any filters off. I will also assume you're not running heavy weight oil to get there either. I can't see any reason to be worried about those numbers. Pretty good in my opinion. Too much oil pressure (if there is such a thing) isn't going to hurt anything, except possibly your front cam bearing from pump load. But you have chosen the HV pump so I assume you are okay with that "possibility". That is a whole other discussion.........

Thanks for the reply. I was just kinda worried in a way since everyone says that oil pressure should be somewhere in the 15-20 range hot, at idle and i had 25.
