What PSI should I be comfortable with at idle?

20 psi give or take a couple lbs. is comforting at hot idle in neutral.

Oh no........I only have about 3 psi. What type of Oil pump should I buy. I have been noticing that my oil pressure is getting worse.

5.0 sounds like its about time for a rebuild or try a different gauge try a mechanical gauge there way more accurate.

RSTTYPE what oil are you using try 20w50 that should help 5-8 #s

Did this pressure loss happen over time or did you happen to notice suddenly you have a lot less oil pressure. Maybe some WOT test and tune sessions? Then, pressure drop? There's a couple things you can do if you're not ready to rebuild at this time. You can replace the bearings with the engine in the car. Really not a difficult job and will cost you about $50 for the bearings. Another way you can go is to install a hv pump, about $35, with proper clearances, or do both. Works for me.

The oil pressure has been getting worse over time. At WOT I have about 30 PSI. My engine has a lot of hard miles and I have a lot of blow by becuase I alwasy blow oil out of my breather cap. I have been looking into a rebuild, but trying to decided if I want to use a Stage block or not.

Yeah, been that way for a while. I just like driving my GN so much I hate to park it while I get the motor rejuvenated. I have bought a block and I am hoping that I can build a short block and then just swap everything out.
