I have read the gnttype.org page where it has turbo regal buying info and it states that a car should have oil pressure inthe high teens when the motor is hot and in idle (mine does)its in the 18-19 range my question is what should it be when its hot and in drive? not park. they dont say anything about that in the web site.Other than that the car seems fine.... I am running 10-30 synthetic (mobil-1) and car seems to be at 10-13 when car is fully warmed up. After it has been on the freeway for an hour or so that is when I get that reading of 10-13 psi is that normal or alittle low? I guess if it is a little low I can go to a heavier oil right? any help is appreaciated thanks in advance....

It might mean your bearings are wearing out-you can use a higher viscosity usually good for another 10 psi.

ive got 75 psi driving down the street and 50 psi in drive not moving

This sounds normal if its got the stock oil pump and some miles on it. I usually get 15-20psi hot in gear idling with 10W-30 on a fresh engine with .0015 rod and main clearance. If the lifter bores are a little loose it will have less at idle. As long as you have at least 60psi at 5000 rpm and 75psi at 6000rpm i wouldnt worry about it. The way are stock pumps are designed they wont have a lot of pressure at idle. Only the gerotors on the 3800's and almost all newer engines have steady oil pressure.
