Hi all i bought a car a few months ago with no motor/trans-And it has a reds dble pumper fuel pump-I just put a motor and trans in it and hooked everything up and it runs fine.My ? is that there is a 10 ga wire comeing from the pump harness
that runs to the front but its not plugged in-when i run power to it the pump runs
but doesnt shut off.what is it for?

I have a race tronics walbro set up that has a 10ga wire going to the front because the pump needs the power. Is the double the same?why doesnt it shut off?does it need to be plugged in?why does pump work without the wire plugged in(iknew there must be power going through the stock harness but is it enough?

any help would be great dont want to burn it out!

thanks Brian

that "could" be the power wire for the second pump which is usually controlled by a Hobbs switch ie it turns on at a certain boost level

is the Hobbs switch still there?

Would the hobbs switch be in the front of the car?in the rear theres only the relay
what would it look like?-if i have to get a hobbs switch how would i hook it up?and where could i get one.?
any help would be great
thanks
Brian

Normally the Hobbs is located under the hood

They function off the vac line and switch on the 2nd pump at a certain boost level....this is a necessary device with a double pumper because 2 pumps running at once (while not under boost) will overwhelm the return line and louse up your fuel pressure

I don't know specifically where you can get one, but you might try the various vendors.....or auto parts places

thanks man
ill look farther into it
