I have a 87 that has 235's on the front. I get a thud sound on the passenger front when I crank the wheel as hard as it will go to the right. Would 235's rub if the wheel was turned all the way?

Yes. I assume these are 235-60-15's on a stock size rim with stock offset. Even 225's might rub a little. You can a: try spacers to get them out. b: different wheels with less offset. c: don't turn the wheel all the way to lock. Sometimes getting the right wheel and tire combination right can be a pain. Good luck.:)

Dennis,

Thanks for the info. Yes, these are on stock rims. I assumed they must be rubbing when I crank the wheel all the way. Thanks again.

No problem. You also can check the inside of the wheelwell behind the wheel to see if there is a shiny spot where the tire is rubbing. If there isn't I suppose it could be something else, but I doubt it.
