So yesterday I see a part for sale at a good price. I contact the seller, we make the deal and I paypal money in minutes.

Today i get a message stating he was selling it for a friend and the price was wrong and that I was getting a refund. $110. He stated it was supposed to be $150

Isn't a done deal a DONE DEAL?

I'm not sitting well with this but I would like some opinions on this.

I've bought over $7000 worth of parts on here over the last 3 years and never really had an issue but there is something really wrong about this.

D

That is shady but at least you got your money back. Wonder what the real reason is? o_O

He says he refunded all the money but my paypal still does not have it.
I don't know how long it takes.

I've seen the person in question on here in many post and have never heard a bad thing.

This is just very fishy to me.

My $.02.....

About 5 minutes or <.....

This guy is using the "selling for a friend" BS to raise the price. [He likely got a Pm telling him they would pay higher $$, if he would back out.]

I bought something from someone here and then the guy said when he went to find it he couldn't locate it and was refunding my paypal.

It took 3 days (he refunded me an a Friday) for the money to show in my account.

Not complaining about the deal going south, just giving you a time reference to look for the refund.

Those are my exact thoughts.

Had this happen myself once. The bad part was the guy didn't realize that he sold the parts to another B4black guy and I found out about it. He also marked it up to twice the price he offered it to me. Shouldn't happen but it does. He expected me to counter offer and it didn't happen.

Sorry he took the next highest offer over $110 so I gave him $111 .. Buck is a buck  Total BS... I did do that twice in all my years here BUT it was on shipping.. Damm shippin was more than the part !!!

How about a link. So we don't fall into the same BS.

It was all done through pm's and email. I'm going to wait a couple of days but if i don't have my money by then then I will out the person in question. I'm just not happy and wanted some thoughts on my experience.

I've always been a fair guy on here and expect the same in return.

I can understand If it was $18 shipping on a $12 item but there is definitely a N in the wood pile.
p.s.
Stay away from my parts Grumpy!

just for your info .. paypal hits right away(well within 30 min) ... so thats BS to.

Paypal is supposed to be instant. At least in my experiences.

Banks have nothing to do with it since it is money going from one paypal account to another paypal account.

I'm giving it a couple of days for the benefit of unforeseen errors and to not just jump the gun.

thanks for all the input guys

Well then, I guess this falls under me giving it a couple of days for the benefit of unforeseen errors.

Thanks

well i know when i buy something on ebay, it comes out of paypal pretty quick

This was me, i thought i had a under hood light and it was actually a trunk lid light. I did refund him back promptly, not sure why it took a couple of days as i have plenty of cash in my pp account. So yes give it a couple of days. Times are tough and some people's word is not what it use to be. I have had deallings where it was a done deal verbally but soon after they would contact me saying they have a higher offer and want to know if i would give another offer. Or it maybe that the price was wrong, but as long as you are being made whole again you are out nothing. Just make a list ( i have a long one) of people who dont follow thru or have had bad dealings with and dont deal with them again.

He seems to be legit. According to the seller the refund is completed on his end but the details say uncleared so he must have bought something and left insufficient funds in his paypal account and paypal is waiting for the bank to open. should be here monday.

He hasn't stated it but i'm sure he is aware of this thread.

Says he is even sending me something nice for this unfortunate outcome.

I am mad, but i feel i have handled this in a professional manor by not outing him and flying off the handle verbally.

That's not my style unless it is well deserved.

We will see what the final outcome is

If all ends well i will leave it up to him if he wants to chime in.

If i don't have my funds by Tuesday then I will post the link of the item in question and the corresponding pm's and out the person.

thanks for letting me vent.

D

Personally when the agreement is made, the deal is done. I wouldn't try to change the deal for a measly $40 especially when it was my mistake.

That's just me though.
