I need to make new tranny lines for my car as the metal ones are not in great shape anone is leaking. What fittings are needed to either go braided stainless or are new tranny lines availiable?? I rather go with something other then factory since they are so hard to faniggle in there!! What have you guys done>>??

I used 6 an hose with 1/4" NPT to fittings into the trans case. The trans. case is supposedly actually a 1/4" straight (not taper fitting) but I've had zero problems with the NPT fitting. I went along the frame with mine. You will need to heat wrap the lines where they pass under the headers. Here's a few pics from a while back. The engine is out of the car now, so I could probably go out and get some more pics if you're interested. HTH, Scott

It's really a custom job. I went through Jegs. You can buy the hose in 10 foot lengths, plus 4 hose ends. Dont forget you need a cooler that accepts the fittings. ie. Setrab, Long, or B&M.

The trans case is NPSM not NPT but like Scott, I used NPT to -6 AN with no problems. I routed the lines straight over the test pipe (did not make a bend towards the front and thru the headers like shown in the fists pic in Scott's post). There is a hole in the frame right there and another hole in the frame near the front where the braided lines come out and then on to the cooler - can just see the fittings under the front plate if ya bend down for a look.

Hey Blown, How did you deal with the front spring? Just wire tie it away from the spring?

Same here. I used adapters aund hooked up radiator then to secondary cooler in front of header panel.

What do you mean - that big fat wire that might crunch down on the lines? Neeeeever heard of it  LOL - I see you were looking at the same things I was looking at while routing the trans lines.

By the time I completed the operation, the lines seem to keep clear of the springs. I also slid a length of clear plastic tube over the braided line to help with any abrasion issues especially where the line enters and exits the frame and passes the sway bar.

I know that the plastic will not help the lines it they get in-between the spring but the natural lay of the lines seem to keep them from harms way good enough that I did not try to tie them away from the spring - I should look again as it has been several hundred miles since I last checked

Try ebay.

I saw a company that was selling pre-cut lines with the fittings needed at a pretty decent price. They came in different colors too.

A bunch of us all commented on this on the other turbo board in the library section. There are part numbers and multiple members who gave their ideas and options to doing it.
