Bought a house, had to park the old girl for the last 5 years. Holy cr@p things have changed  So many new products and so many varieties! I know the rings have far exceded their life expectency, and I know its time for some freshening up. But I don't want to spend a load on the long block and then another load on replacing my probably outdated bolt-ons. Looking for up to date "recipe" links/suggestions/used parts to put this tired black horse into the mid 11's on a diet budget.

comp/new burn

First thing is upgrade your chip to a recent burn www.turbotweak.com you will be happy with it.
What is your cmpression??
Motor noisy at all?

Good point, haven't updated the chip since '00 or so. Never checked the compression, lots of blown by under high boost-oil all over the a/c box and pass wheel well. Engine's very quiet, considering. Just some mild rolling valve train noise. Oil pressure; 50psi cold about 20psi hot (idle). Believe me, I'd really like to just put a in set of rings and seals, just does't seem likely. Also looking for real comparisons of alky vs. propane kits. stock intercooler vs stretchers vs dutt necks.

I would do a compression test to see what you have.
Make sure PVC is not stuck causing a blow by.
Alky, Turbotweak chip, and a Large Neck IC are good street MODs.
Might have to watch your injectors if you upgrade to alky.
I have this setup on one of my cars but do run 50# injectors.
Have not been to the track so I don't have any times.
