ok so here is the deal. all day today the window went up and down just fine, tonight i get in the car to put it to sleep for the night. i start the car and the driver side gose up fine slow.... but fine. then i go to do the passenger and nothing not a damn thing....

where do i look to trouble shoot this issue?

i took the driver side upper door panel off, the passenger switch will not work also. i have not taken off the upper door panel yet cause its late!

thanks!

Mine has stuck in the down position a couple of times. I've always had luck with a hard rap right below the passenger side window switch. A really hard rap! Not the cure but it worked for me. R.B.

when all else fails violence is always the answer!

I'd go to section 120 of the factory service manual for the troubleshooting guide and wiring diagram.

Could be the following:

1. Window motor
2. Window motor circuit breaker
3. Motor wiring to pass. side switch
4. Passenger side switch def.
5. Pass. side sw. wiring to first connector
6. Bad connections at connector C343
7. Bad wiring from connector C343 to C342
8. Pink wire to C343 back to S340
9. Wiring from master switch to C342
10. Master switch assembly bad

Here is your first test.

At the passenger window switch run a wire to the battery of about 16 gauge single conductor, or use zip cord 18 gauge tied together and try this: dark blue wire from the pass. switch put the battery to it and see if it goes up.

Key off test since you are using the battery directly.

Might be a bad connection at the switch or a bad motor, I would get a test light or a volt meter and check voltage at both switches

i am gunna go and kick the door really fast if that dont work i will look at salvages suggestion.....

In case you try the first test, mine that is not the kick test, ;) leave the switches connected for it to work.

Use a needle through the insulation into the wire and touch the wire you connected to the battery to that needle. Easy to repair with a piece of tape after the test, and usually the insulation molds back over the wire anyway and you might not need tape at all.

If the window starts to go up let us know.

Might spark or smoke a bit too since the needle isn't that great of a connection and the window takes a lot of current to put up.

If the kick test works it may only be a temporary solution. :(

so i go out this morning wiht the intent to take the door apart and just for giggles i use the switch one more time.. IT WORKED so i will wait for it to happen agian beffore i do any thing.

thanks for all the suggestions guys, i will bookmark this for next time!

it's the motor. they crap when they get hot, then work again after they cool off.
