any one ever got an email saying your account was frozen until you updated the info? I just got one that said they needed my pin#. I did not give it. I then went to my account and took out my money with no problem. It may have been legit but seems fishy to me.

paypal phishing emails have been around for years. i've called paypal to verify their legit emails before.
i hate freaking scammers  and spammers

easy to spot...put the cursor over the link and look at where the link actually goes.. it isn't paypal :p

Thanks for the info Grumpy, never thought about that. Sixbangr, you could always put your password in as "You F-ing theaving bastard rot in H*LL" just to see what happens.

They'll probably forward you a few links or emails with viruses to wipe out your PC.

I use to reply like that BUT my son is a computer guru and said not to even open it  I learned not to click on unknown links :p

Get those all the time plus ones about ebay and I win some kind of lottery elsewhere in the world at least once a day. I have "won" enough lotteries to pay off the country's deficit single handed.:D

x2 i also get them from the fbi saying they know i'm dealing with the nigerians, it's legit, they know where i am, and if i don't send my info to claim the money, they will arrest me.

that msnbc guy chris ____ , did the to catch a scammer. very interesting.

as many scammers that are out there, i wonder how many people get duped by them daily?

Phishing or Pharming emails, NEVER click on their link or give any info . If in doubt, forward the emails to spoof@paypal or spoof@ebay if it's one saying they sent you money yada yada for the fax machine or whatever. And delete the email. I've been getting at least 1 or 2 a day lately, and I'm sending them all to either ebay or paypal to investigate. As the economy gets worse, more scams will be looking for suckers ready to click their bank info away
