I have some white smoke that comes out of the tail pipe when engine is hot and I rev it up real quick.I was told it could be valve seals, pcv,or rings I have oil on the vacuum block port that goes to the pcv valve and was wondering if this is my problem how do I check to see if the pcv valve is bad??? my buddy says to shake it and if it rattles around then it is good...is this correct????mine is out now and it does rattle around...I am going to take off the up pipe and look in the throttle body for oil now...any help is great thanks in advance...

shake test only means its not stuck, replace w/ ac pcv. Check turbo seals for leakage.Oil in up pipe,TB, etc. Smoke after warm up may be deeper if not above, valve guides, rings etc.what kinda mileage on motor?

It does not happen through the rpm range it only happens after I take my foot off the accellerator and the car comes back to idle and its there for a second or two and its not heavy white smoke eaither its very light...I cleaned pcv and seems free now but has not changed anything..car is acting the same way as before... I have another turbo at home ill put on and test...but you think I should replace the pcv anyway???

i get the same thing and i am told its running rich prolly over 1200mv. its a light blue smoke right? and i only get it when i rev it up and get off of the pedal.

It looks white to me,but I dont know for certain as it is only there for a second or two..no other drivability issues what so ever...

156,000 but most all miles were freeway miles and driven 140,000was done by a old ladie.....

try a Delco PCV valve. I have had some crappy other brands in there and the Delco is the only one I will put back in.
