What is the goal of adjusting the pinion angle? I think you want it in a straight line with the trans yoke right?

If it is not in alignment is the only consequence loss of power or could it snap the rear U-joint?

How do you measure it? Is there a special tool?

Sorry if these are silly questions, I have just been trying to figure out why my rear U-joint snapped.

1- From what I've read you should have the angle at -2*

2- Excessive angle would cause loss of power and could snap u-joints or driveshafts

3-Protractor, you can get these at Sears for $10.

If you get the GSX-tra there is a article in the March 02 newsletter about pinion angle, if not I can scan it and email you it better then I could explain it.

If you can scan and send me the article that would be swell.

I have doubts about using a protractor to set the angle. I have one but it is only about 4 inches long. I assumed there was something more fancy out there to set it.

How do I change the angle? My lowers and upper control arms are not adjustable. Would I need to buy the adjustable uppers?
