Hi buick nuts!

Pls watch and hear the following video i did today. I have a "klack" noise at revving from idle. only from idle on.

You can hear it at 2 and 8 seconds on the video.

I am happy for every tip what could be this noise...

I listened but really didn't hear much... where is the clacking ??? front of the motor ?? if so could just be a cam sensor .. this a stock car ??? lots of TTAs have lifter noise.. especially on the right side

I couldn't hear it either. Here are some things to check. A lot depends on whether the noise is in front of the engine or on either side.

1.As Dan said, put a long screw driver on the cam sensor and put the other end to your ear and see if the noise is coming from there.
2. Take off the serp. belt and run the car to see if it is related to anything belt driven.
3. Check to see if the crank sensor is making contact with the interrupter on the crank.
4. Remove the valve covers and check that the lifters and pushrods look normal.
5. Check to see if you have an exhaust leak, especially on the ds between 3 and 5.

on the right cylinder bank (when youre standing in front of the car) theres coming smoke up from down under. i dont see from where it comes. only at cold-start...

That's probably either an exhaust leak, or you are leaking oil onto the headers. Check your crossover and make sure it's tight.

Am i the only one who hears it? Its not a clacking. More like one tap just after he hits the throttle. Almost sounds like he's letting the throttle linkage go fast and the throttle plate is closing in the TB hard. Beats me what your noise is.

yes, thats exactly what i think!

to the question above: the car is bone stock! only K&N filter is done.

what do I hear?

it sounds like the tensioner (belt tensioner) bottoming out or reaching its limit.

bob

Belt tensioner. Do you have the right size belt on there?
We had the same problem with the T-type and someone on the board gave us a clue about the belt size. Put on a smaller belt and the noise went bye bye.

Also check the tensioner bearing. Remove the belt and then start it up to see if the prob goes away. If it does then its been isolated to the accessories. To check the bearing, with the belt off, just give it a spin and feel for any roughness, if there is, pull just the pulley off and knock out the bearing and take it to a bearing supply store and buy a new one and tap it back in place and re install the pulley.
The TTA uses a shorter belt than the GN does, because there is a "flywheel" weight on the AC pulley and it'll hit the tensioner. I'm not sure they are available anywhere!!! Last time I tried to get one I couldn't find the right size. No one carried it even the dealer. The typical GN one (from a parts store) doesn't work. The AC compressor pulley is different on the TTA.
