Don't know how old that video is, but im like 95% sure that in just the past month or so GM officially announced it was cancelling its plans for the G8 to live on as a new caprice model. They had originally planned on keeping production going by rebadging the car, but Bob Lutz announced that marketing-wise and financially it wasn't a good idea and they were canceling it.

Kinda sucks, since with Pontiac dying off in 2010 the G8 dies with it... the G8 GT was a pretty awesome car, if you've ever gotten a chance to drive one... sad to see it go.

Waiting for our first one to come in, I am hoping to demo this unit to many agency's the only good thing to come from the new GM.

Way to take a great looking car (the g8) and screw it up cause that thing is pain ugly and bland, may perform well but it looks like @ss, just my 2c

Actualy it is not a G8 its off the platform that the camaro is on and the CTS
based on the Caprice that is sold in the Middle East, not a Holden Product.
will be made in North America. So not a G8

Forget it.

Get the new Carbon motors police car. Built in the USA!

Carbon motors will never see the light of day, another get the goverment money and run. They were supposed to be built in Connersville Indiania, but when I drove by does not look like anything is going on.

yeah departments wont fork out that kind of money ,perfect car but wont happen , I thought Chevy was made in the USA?Are they making them in Japan now ?lol:eek:

The Caprice will be made in australia - it is a Holden design with the same underpinnings as the G8 and the camaro - the car will be made in the Holden facility in Adelaide - there actually is a real nice looking rear wheel drive buick based off that platform , if i remember correctly its called a park avenue , it is released in for the chinese market. ill have to look it up to see if it is sold anywhere else
