porting THDP flange?

I noticed that after pulling my THDP off of my p-trim exhaust hosing, that the housing opening is larger than the opening on the THDP flange. There is a good 1/8" of material that can be removed. Has anyone done this? I think I am going to get out the die grinder and "portmatch" it to the turbine housing opening.

I would proceed with caution...that flange is welded to the pipe and if you start grinding material away, it may not be
