posi unit donors

I heard you could use the posi unit out a few other gm cars in the grand nats, any idea what ther cars have interchangeable posi unit wit the grand nat's 8.5-28 spline axel? I heard chevy s10 8.5 rear end with 342 gears, certain fbodies, 93 b bodies?

S10's and 82 on F-bodies no, late 70's F-bodies maybe.

B-bodies probably, but good luck finding one with a posi.

Certain pickups should work, but you would have to change axles at the same time due to being 30 spline.

Unless you mean 78 or your car has the wrong rear in it there's no way...87 Z's came with 7.5" rear ends, totally different from the 8.5" rear that came in our cars.

any 72-79 Nova, 71-81 F body, any mid size car, full size car, and half ton truck built from 73 to 89 or so could have a 28 spline 8.5 posi under it. the later 30 spline units and the 8.6 they put in newer trucks will work with different axles.

anything not GOV lock that is 8.5 off older full size cars, they is a sticky donor list TB info. 28 spline is stock or you can swap to 30 with no problem from what i can tell.
