I know this subject has been hit on before, but I'm looking for some information that is as current and up to date as possible, so please excuse my reposting of this subject. Can someone that has recently bought a Poston's header panel please tell me what overall fit, finish and quality was like? I have heard as many negative comments as I have positive on these parts and honestly don't know what to think. I've heard some people claim that the headlight buckets don't fit right. Does the Poston part look authentic or does it scream "aftermarket"? Does anyone know who makes the part for Postons? What about cost?

I assume that you are talking about the panel on top of the dash. I bought one a few years ago from them and it had been painted gray from blue, and it looks great. You could see a little spray pattern on it when I first got it. But, after a little dressing (armor all or whatever) you could not tell at all.
So then It was superb.

I have the postons header panel. No it actaully fits very well on the sides and top and bottom. I did however have to do a little work on the areas where the headlight bucket retainers are inserted into the panel. These on the postons panel were a little thicker than on the original. A dremel tool and a little work helped to clean this up nicely. Mine however the body person doing the final work rushed it and did not properly finish the center outside. If you look closely on my car you can still see the outline of the ornament areas even though I purchased one with no ornament mount. Once we refinsh it and repain it will look like original. Mine actually bolted on perfect and all lined up from fenders top and bottom and side to side even with the hood. I did of course do minor adjusting but all fit very nice. I also had to trim the slots in the lower front where the tabs from the bumper fillers slide in. Again a little thick here and with a dremel was able to fit everything ver nicely. I did this after fitting the panel to the car and then I hand fitted all the rest. Looks good .

Forgot one other thing. I did have to trim the grooves for the speakers some of them were almost closed just used a razor knife, trimmed and opened them up a little.
But, I do have a very nice sound system with tweets in the dash under these speaker holes, so i would be a little more anal about than some who does not.

I have used aftermarket header panels which is probably what Poston's is using. They are certainly available locally in your area Ben.

Fit and finish is good but, as was said, expect to do a little work around the headlight buckets.

turbo nasty.....

They are talking about the "header panel" not the interior dash panel.

just had our new posten header painted after a small accident took out the original. i am pleased by the fit iteslf but not by the holes for the plug clips like others have said. a dremel will be very helpfull. it does beat going to the junk yard and taking one off then having to have it stripped, primed and painted plus filling the hole for the hood ornament. i think its a good buy.

So from what you all are saying, the material in the Poston panel looks to be at least as thick and hopefully as durable as stock? I noticed that Postons doesn't have a web site. Does anyone know how much they get for their header panel?

I found an aftermarket piece for sale in the link I posted below. Not sure who makes it. The price kind of sounds too good to be true though. Anyone ever seen one of these?

Auto Body Parts Wholesale

Doubt that there are many off-shore manufacturers, probably the same ones I have used and that Poston sells.

They are about $100 locally.
