Just trying to find out if anyone did not drill the 3/8" hole for the EGR valve and if not how does the car respond. Does it run smoother or ??? Thanks for any info on this as I am getting ready to install a P/P on my car and was wondering what the majority did as far as drilling the hole for the EGR port.

Does the EGR function with your current chip? If it does, then drill it. :)

Long time no see! Hope all is well!

I drilled mine as my car has an active EGR and passes emissions on the dyno with no problems.

I used longer bolts and some use studs - the stock bolts may be a bit short so be careful of that soft aluminum.

Some complain of knock when getting rid of the EGR - do a search probably tons of posts on it.

I have a working EGR...At least I did untill I didn't drill the hole in my PP. I never noticed a differance.

Be VERY careful not to strip those studs when you re install everything....:)

I think my EGR is disabled with my 93 octane chip but is enabled with the emissions chip. Should I drill it when I get a power plate?

By deleting the EGR, you may experience some part throttle tip in knock. If you are running a bigger cam or racing fuel you will probably not see any knock.

Hey Geoff long time no see! I was just wondering if there was power to be gained by blocking off the EGR but based on the feedback I will be drilling the hole for the EGR valve. One of the reasons I am installing the P/P is because it supposed to help diminish or eliminate knocking altogether dependent on the car's setup. Since I am mostly stock and there is some knock and because the EGR will help with low end knock I will keep the EGR functional on this daily driven streen car.

Thank you guys for the feedback!!!
