my driver's power window switch is messed up. The chrome part that you push up/down is loose and feels like it isn't connected to anything. The window goes down, but not back up without messing with the switch at differnt angles for a few minutes. Should I replace the whole switch assembly? The dealer has one in stock for $34.18. Anyone else have this problem?

I found the dual switch in "Help" isle at my local Pep Boys. Its an exact match. I think I paid like $17 or so. They carry the single switches too.. Dealer are always too pricey>

You can pry the switch off with out removing the door trim. There are two metal clips on the sides of the switch that clamp it tight against a metal retainer on the trim panel. Just pry up the switch with a screwdriver and it should pop out. Also check the condition of the ring teminals on the wire connector as these will sometimes break.
