Well my T has a leaky powermaster so i look at kirbans for a rebuilt and they are almost $700 now.(no disrespect to Kirbans)I talked to a local rebuilder and he says the core is the secret. If you get a good one your lucky!I like the stock look and when they work they are ok but man what a pain when they don't.Any ideas ,remove and go to vac or rebuild.

The vacuum is a cheaper way to go and most are happy with it. Personally I would go straight to Hydroboost. Ive got a Hydroboost and love it.

It is leaking at the swith, however this has been going on for a while and the motor and everything is all corroded.(bought the car this summer).I did a search lots for sale and some real old 2005 stuff etc.I am concerned about spending alot to repair and still have headaches:confused:
Thanks for the input.

Who makes or sell hydroboost?

Kevin

Go on the brake and suspension section and look at buttonflys setup. Its awesome! He and I just put a hydro on a customers car. Astro van unit from pick and pull. Brakes are fantastic!!! Later, Bob.

Vacuum brakes. Switched mine when my powermaster failed and couldn't be happier. 1.62 60ft with stock suspension, nitto's and 5psi on the brakes (can hold 10+psi without a problem)

swap for vacuum brakes. I ditched my old POS powermaster and that's the best thing I have done to this car. It actually STOPS now and doesn't get a hard pedal at inopportune times. The vac brakes work GREAT!

Vacuum power brakes

I replaced the powerbrake master twice and converted to vacuum brakes.
Love the vacuum brake setup.

leaking at the switch-----is it black or grey-----black switches were original and sooner or later they all leak due to a design defect------if its grey perhaps the o ring is bad??-------if a leaking switch is all you have thats a easy fix..........RC

Bob you are to kind! lol

Bob and I just swapped a car to a hydroboost unit at his shop in a couple of hours. I would be happy to show you what I did or help you put a kit together.

plenty of pics see for yourself. pm me if interested

Forget both the PM and the Vac setups. The PM is a money pit and unreliable at best...and thats being nice about it. Hydroboost all the way. You can get ALL the parts you need NEW from Oreileys or Autozone for $250. I have the part numbers if you want them. I converted mine and couldn't be happier.

Vacuum brakes here and couldn't be happier!!! I took my car for a ride last week in my neighborhood and just decided to see what she'd hold on the footbrake. 10-11lbs of boost without breaking a sweat and that was on plain old radial tires not even a drag radial. When the powercrapster failed it was an easy decision just based on how much cheaper it was (not to mention safer), but now that I see it also has no downsides to holding boost I only wish I did it sooner.

and for what its worth.....for the rest of us with p/master setups that are scared to death about rearending someone or worse and either "leave it alone til it breaks" or cant afford it....it has been suggested here in a post by Mr.Clark, that if brake fluid is kept clean by flushing it bleeding or however, that it will greatly decreece failure rate....i feel it has kept mine alive for the past sereral years with just one accumulator ball needed. being we are talking brakes, this is way important stuff.. so dont take my word for it and search it out.

If you go to hydroboost do you have to change the foot pedal to? I know you do with the vacuum brakes.

I switched to hydroboost as well and I think its the best way to go. It uses the same pedal as the powermaster to answer the above question.
