I bought a set of push rods off ebay thinking they were better than stock, i thought they were fatter but turns out they are a tad longer, they are stamped 5/16x.116 8.800 will this help me, my heads are stock ported with 100# springs, gm head gaskets, shaved .005 for clean up, stock arms, HELP!

Stock 8.670 (measured)
Be sure to verify lifter pre-load.

lifter pre load is how much distance the beyond zreo lash. Since you have stock rocker arms there is no adjustment to speak of so the push rod must be about .035" longer than the point when there is zero space between the rocker arm, push rod, and the lifter when the cam is on the base (valve closed)

If your old push rods were right, the ones you got will be too long - to much pre load.
