How exactly does the S-10 pickup delete pulley work???
Is it just an idler pulley that takes the place of the compressor,
keeping the same belt routing?

I read about a delete setup from Hartline performance that
relocates the alternator to a lower position for better
"belt wrapping".
Is there something wrong with the belt wrapping when using
the S-10 pulley?

The Hartline setup is quite a bit more money so I was
wondering how much better it could be.

Thanks,
Mike

yes. simple and effective. i had to drill out one of the bolt holes to make it fit properly, but it was simple.

the belt routing remains the same.

Yes, the S-10 setup is just an idle pulley.

The Hartline kit does offer great belt wrap, and no slippage.
Yes, it is more, and also saves a fair amount of weight. The belt is shorter so less HP lose in spinning it (minor but still a plus). valvetrain work is easier on the Dr Side. No tensioner to fail.

With the oem tensioner set up if you have any slippage you buy a new belt there is no way to adjust the belt tension, me, I'd rather be able to control the belt tension.

With the Hartline you can reconfigure the MAF piping to be alot better, IMO.
