Sorry if this has been asked but the search just keeps asking me to download search.php!

I just got back from flying 4500 KM's away to buy new '87 GN and Im gonna do the spring cleaning on it, but have some questions about fluids that I bought tonight and wouldn't mind a "Yeah that'll work" or "What were you thinking - take em back" before adding them on Sunday.

[edit: had the fluids backwards, thanks jcj!]

1. The transmission fluid. (Mister Transmission Premium Grade Dexron III)
2. The Diff fluid. (Quaker State 75W-140 Full synthetic GL-5) w/GM Limited slip fluid

Also how much of each should I have. I wasn't sure at the time and bought 2 quarts of Diff fluid, and 5 of tranny.

Cheers and Thanks!!!

Looks good but I think you have your fluids backwards, and I would recommend 75/90 for the rear diff

Thanks JCJ. So I should get 75-90 instead of 75-140?

Thats the OEM recommended wieght, and dont forget the Posi-Trac additive. You'll need at least 3 quarts for the rear diff, and I'd say 6 for the trans to be safe (don't forget the filter kit of the trans).

Dont use the Syn in the diff.

Use dino, I have had great luck w/ 1 bott valvoline 75w90, 1 bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer and 1 tube of posi additive
