Just a couple of quick questions. Over the winter, I noticed that when running the heat on my 86 Regal, that the air would not get that hot nor would it blow from anywhere other than the dash defog vents. Now that it's warming up, I tested the A/C, same thing, not cold at all and only blowing from the dash vents. I got behind the dash but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I'm assuming that the A/C just needs to be recharged, but I can't figure out the reason my heater doesn't get warm or why everything only blows through the dash. I won't be keeping these items much longer anyway, but for now it would be nice to use on occasion. Any thoughts about the problems?

Follow the cable that controls the hot to cold adjustment on the ac controler. There is a plastic clip that usually breakes and lets that cable move without fully switching the blend door all the to the heat side or the cool side.

drop your glove box down you will se what is going on when moving the controls.

As far as blowing only defrost I think that is default for the system check the back of the ac controls and make sure your vac lines are pluged in all the way.If they are make sure you are getting vac to the feed line in the system.

sorry have a hard time typing whats in my head.:D

Two other things to check. First on the back of the control is a vacuum selector switch. Make sure that is working. Second, back by the firewall behind your coilpack is a vacuum check valve, black plastic, make sure it is also working. Your heat, vent and defrost doors work off of vacuum so if it is stuck in one position it should be one of these parts. Eric Fisher
