Just wondering how everyone is mounting this fan to the radiator supports and where your putting the alky bottle with it when you have a front mount, TIA

If it's any help, this is how I mounted mine. Remove the 4 ears on the sides. Reuse the Buicks stock lower fan mount by removing the 4 clips & turning the bracket 180 degrees with the two tabs still facing up. These will fall into a perfect spot on the fan to drill 2 holes. Reinstall 2 of the original clips on those tabs & run the original bolts from inside the shroud to the factory bracket. I used 2 "S" shaped clips that I robbed off of a Ford Ranger lower shroud and clipped them to the bottom of the Buicks core support. The fan will then drop right into those clips. For the top, I picked up a piece of 1-1/4" wide 12 gauge flat steel from the local hardware store, cut 2 - 3" lengths, and bent a very shallow offset tab on each. Line these up at the stock top mount locations where the A/C lines attatch, and drill holes in opposite ends to fasten them to the factory top stud/bolt and drill through the shroud. 2 - 1/4" short carriage bolts from the inside of the shroud through 2 - 5/16" holes in the shroud worked perfectly. Not everybody cares about drilling holes to mount stuff, but I refuse to drill any holes in my car, and this was an absolutely factory appearing / no holes / sanitary way to mount the fans! Sorry about the length, hope this helps. John R

For the number of people that bought this fan and asked this question, I'm surprised someone hasn't made and marketed a "kit". Even if it's stuff like Home Depot metal strips!:)

If you get the harness that allows the fans to be plugged into the factory wiring so the ECM controls them, do both fans run? Or just one?

How would I go about wiring the manual (in-car) high speed fan switch, like I have now? (Tapped into the green wire to the relay on the fender). It would be best to run them both at high speed.

Both and at high speed so no need to tap into anything!

Thanks for all the help on this one. It looks like Ill use all the info provided and engineer a new way by the time Im done. Thanks

What if I still want to control them manually? Just leave the switch wired to the relay as is? In the summer I like to run the fan in traffic, long before the ECM decides its hot enough.

I used their kit, Stock No. 16743 to mount mine. Works great. Keeps the fans in nice and close to the rad. I dremeled an edge onto my fans so they fit under the tanks and onto the cores. The edges are rounded on the fan so It won't hurt the core.

Interesting.... how much was that kit? Did you use 2 of the metal rods or all 4? (Can't tell how long they are from the pic)

I got the kit from summit. I actually got 2 kits. They are 7.69 per pack of 8. I used 12 Rods total. 2 on the side, 2 on the center and 2 on the other side, then same on the bottom. The rods are huge, They are 7 1/4" long. I left mine sticking out a bit and bent them over to prevent the fan from backing out. I think I took a few pictures before I mounted them. I can send them to you if you give me your e-mail. Use the private message system if you don't want your e-mail publicly displayed.
