I have the Valeo dual fan on my car for ~ 2 years now. One fan is "out of balance", and vibrates/makes noises, etc. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this. Should I attempt repair? I'm not very thrilled about buying the same fan as a replacement. What other options are there?

Mine did the same thing. I took it apart and it wasn't out of balance, but one of the bearings inside the motor was really loose. I replaced the motor with a buddy's who had one go bad, I used the good one of the two. It lasted about two weeks and did the same thing. I've put my stock fan back on for now, which doesn't do well at all with my front mount. I may buy another ramcharger style dual fan. Mine lasted a couple of years and for $80 bucks, I'll replace it every two years if I have to. I'm sure there are fans out there that can stand the underhood temps we have, but you'll probably pay quite a bit more. Just my opinion.

one of my motors did the same thing i guess since summer is here its time to buy a new one

Mine has done the same thing, one of the fan motors was wobbling then just quit.
Problem is the only vendor that has them is Gbody parts.com and he wants over a bit over a hundred bucks for em.
All the rest of the vendors are on national backorder and none of the electric motor repair shops I have called can get nothing off of the #'s on the fan motor id tag for rebuild or replacement!

I think the best route is the flexalite or Spal dual fans.

Came across this on the pro-touring board:

".......... I talked with Brian at DC Controls about the popularity of the Chrysler Intrepid fans everybody seems to like on G-body cars and he told me to stay clear of them. They are very cheap (around $80 new, without harness) and are dual fan design and move about 3500 cfm but they always had a bad reputation for bad bearings and annoying sqeaks that turned into locked up motors pretty quick. Chrysler re-designed the fans and unloaded their stockpile to various outfits CHEAP-so stay clear of 1997 and older Chrysler electric fans fyi! -Jabin"

LIke I said they are on national backorder.
just called lane automotive 3 days ago and they told me they 2 where on the same boat on back order.

why don't you get the dual fans from a 93-96 lt1 camaro/firebird??? ive herd no problems with those fans...

I have a few Brand new motors for the dual set up(valeo)laying around id sell
let me know if anyone is interested
thanks
