removing stock oil pressure sending unit

I am getting ready to hook up my oil pressure guage and want to put the senind unit where the stock one is down by the timing cover.

What is the best way to get to the stock unit? It looks like I might have to take off the rad hose but don't want to do that if I don't have to.

When I eventually get the stock sending unit off will oil come pouring out?
