Replacing crank sensor help.

OK my GN won't start and according to my research everything point to the crank sensor. I have the new sensor and pedestal but I'm having a hard time remving the sensor. Obviously I have to rotate the crank but I can't figure out how? Can you guy please dumb it down for me? Also, is there an easy way to align the new sensor/pedestal? Thanks for the help.

***I'm just trying to get it started so I can move it into the garage at this point so it can sleep for a while.

Try to CAREFULLY turn with the fan if you can't get a ratchet on the crank bolt. Move the balancer until the sensor can be removed, install new sensor. Slowly turn crank while watching the sensor(still loose), get the interuptor ring in the sensor just enough and use a match book cover on each side of the ring so the sensor is centered on the ring and tighten the sensor. Remove the match covers and see if it starts. :biggrin:

remove fly wheel cover 4 10 mm bolts you can move the fly wheel easily with a pair of pressure pliers, or a fly wheel tool.
