gnttype.org is still down so i will search on here.
i have ordered some CC 980's and i am going to get the Dynagear 73019 from autozone to replace my stock 161000 mile one. yup my car has 161,000 miles on it. it has been taken care of and probably has never seen much boost until i got it.
well i was wondering how hard of a job it is to replace the timing chain. how long should i expect to be working on it? i need to reset the cam gear afterwards and i have been reading about upgrading the cam button. can someone explain a little about this cam button?

87GNcospg,
Is the Dynagear 73019 a stock replacement chain? I'm looking to do my chain and was looking for a stock replacement which uses the tensioner............not the double roller type.
Thanks!
Rob

the dynagear is a stock replacement without the nylon gears,i bought it and after opening it i thought that it looked like it wasent gonna hold up to my driving style,so i bought the edlebrock double roller,a much more durable and accurate piece. The upgraded cam button is just going from plastic (stock) to metal with a bearing, dynagear makes that part too. The job took me the better part of a saturday so dont make any other plans that day,and be very careful with the pan gasket mine started leaking then i had to replace the pan gasket, good luck and if you ask me, i would tell you to get a double roller and have peace of mind

i forget who said this but someone on this board has installed a few of the dynagears on 11 second cars. they ahve been holding up. my stock car has 161,000 miles on the timing chain. its fine but i am about to put alky on the car and want everything as perfect as i can get it. if the stock one can last 161,000 then im sure the dynagear is sufficient.

DYnagear should be fine, but I would plan on dropping the oil pan anyway, i fthe oil pan gasket gets pinched when you re-install the timing cover you get to go through the process all over again..(lesson learned the hard way)
