Every other year the Iowa dnr auctions off all the confiscated gun, bow, traps, stands, ect. The auction is in about a month. There are roughly 600 guns going to auction. Most are shotguns and .22’s. However some riffles as well. Most of these are 30.30’s with a few 30.06’s. I spent some time on gun broker looking at prices just to get some ideas. However I was wondering if any of you have experiences or opinions on these guns?
Winchester 30-30 model 94
Winchester Model 70 (30-06)
Marlin Model 336 (30.30)
Marlin Model30AW (30.30)
Remington Model 700 (30-6)
I was hoping to pick a new Remington Model 700 30-6 later this year but after using a friend’s 30.30 lever action JC Higgens last year and falling in love with that little gun. I’ve been keeping my eyes open. When I seen this auction was coming I got excited to maybe pick up 30.30 cheap.

Man for up to 100yrd shooting a 30.30 is an awesome gun... Great for home defense too IMO... It packs a hard punch for a short distance...

Any of those guns you can pick up in the 250 range that are in GOOD shape would be a deal...

Just about all quality lever guns in good condition bring 300+ on GB.

There is so many makes and models it can get confusing on the higher priced ones.

On the 30.06 the win should be 300-350 used and the rem around 400-450 depending on condition...

I would not pass up a 30.30 for under 250 unless it has rust...
