I have a block at the shop getting Decked, tanked with new freeze out plugs and cam bearings..Also the crank is going .010 under due to a wiped cam...I am not sure which Bearings to go with....I also would like to Know what the diffrence is between the Total seal Top ring set and the second Ring set...The car will be a weekend cruiser,And will see the track often enough....The combo: GN1's..T&D 1.65 RR's...CPT 65....comp 212/212...50's...Precision Front mount...62/65 Tb...Mease Plenum...3"TH Downpipe.

The cam is not a definate yet,I am still debating on which to go with...Just not sure what bearing to use,And havent heard much on the total seals yet...

I need to order the Rings and Bearings ASAP...So the best place to get the stuff,Or part #'s would be a big help also...

Any help/Info is appreciated

Thanks,Shawn

If it were my rebuild, you can't go wrong with Clevite main and rod bearings. For your 10/10 crank you'll need MS-960P-10 main bearings and if you want the wider rod bearings, the part number is CB-1443-P-10. Talking about $50-$55 for both. As far as your ring question, I can't give you the answer to your question, but I installed Hasting rings my last couple rebuilds and I had no problems. Cost around $60-$65 a set.

You should be able to purchase these parts someplace local to you that sells engine supply parts.

Seal Power rings- put in dry (wipe down the cylinders with solvent); just oil the piston skirts (non detergent oil) and bring the engine up to 2000 rpm on start up. The rings will seal very quickly.
Federal Mogul main bearings 107 M
Clevite 1348 H rod bearings
Try calling Scott at SRS (Ohio) 937-548-7113 Good prices and excellent service.
One piece of advice - it is critical that the engine and internal oil passages be clean. This includes the oil cooler and the oil lines.
Good Luck,
Jeff

Thanks For the advice Jeff.....

The block is getting hot tanked,And I have a ton of cleaning in front of me,It wiped the cam,And had a Blown headgasket,I have never seen a 4K Mile cam so bad in my life. You can go to the link in my sig,And click on the Gn pics folder...That has some pics of the motor in it...The cam pics were blurry,I was trying to get real close up shots of the lobes...I am going to retake them and put them up tomorrow...

Shawn, I feel your pain, I also had a cam go flat on me. Might think about a roller cam if you can afford it. With a standard cam you want the oil and fuel primed so it starts at the first turn of the key.
