Roller Lifter question

I just got my roller lifters from Comp. Is there anything i should do to store them or prepare them? thanks.

make sure you clean them very well before you drop them in!

Yes wash them in mineral spirits several times and exercise the lifter plungers. You will get metal shavings come out of them.

Soak them in oil overnight also, so the oil gets in between the rollers. Maybe sae30 grade

I used laquer thinner on mine. Just put them in and let them sit for a day. The solvent will turn brown and you will see specs of metal in there. Blow out the lifters with compressed air. Repeat until the solvent stays clean and then soak for a day in oil. A few of mine had some rough cut metal from the bodies that was hanging up on the lifter bores. Be sure to take care of this if you encounter this problem. Dont force them in. They get an F- for QC on these.
