Security Light Keeps Flashing

On my 87 Gn the security light in the dash keeps flashing and eventually runs down the battery. I believe it supposed to stop flashing when you exit the car and close the door or set the door locks. I removed the bulb to keep from running down the battery but would like to get it functioning properly. Any ideas?

8A-133-7 of the factory service manual worth buying one or the CD version.

Test invloves uplugging the theft deterrant module from it's harness.

Then you check pin J of the plug light blue wire to ground with a meter, with both doors closed no voltage should be read.

Each door open one at a time you should get +12 on the meter.

Circuits you are checking are the door jamb pin switches and door lock cylinder switches so you may wish to start there and remove them and check for inoperative switches or intermittant operation.

Look for wiring shorts to ground tan and blue wires.
