Shared ign module and coilpack?

Which cars have the same ign module and coilpack as our cars? i know most of the late 80's FWD cars have the same coilpack, but their modules are "keyed" differently. do any cars share ign modules with us, and if so which ones??

I'd say just buy a new one and return it if it doesn't help. I've done that before, just don't get them dirty. You can't trust one from a junkyard to be good due to exposure to moisture.

I think they are the same on most early to mid-80s Buicks with distributorless ignitions but I could be wrong.

about how much do they run? and are they available from regular parts stores, or just GM

Advance Auto has them. You will have to put some money out but you will get it all back. I think it is $150 total for the coil pack and module. Hook the new coilpack and module up the same way the old one was.
