shifter cable local???

Any chain auto parts stores (advance, bennett auto, etc) carry the shifter cable for our cars??
I hit a tree stump in a grassy area and hit hard underneath. Car goes from Park to drive fine , but not back to park. Selector @ tranny "clicks" no problem..... So I can go under to put in park.

Cable? or did I break something in the tranny??

Check the linkage adjustment that attaches to the steering column. It set-screws down and you could have just knocked it out of adjustment. Try grabbing the collar at the base of the column and see if you can turn it clockwise and then see if the tranny goes into park. Does the sterring wheel lock when you try to put it in park with the gear shift?
