Heres the deal, around 18-19 hundred rpms i can sometimes get a skip, under light and heavy throttle, once i get out of that range it goes away. It doesnt happen if the car is cold or hasnt been running for a while, it starts up around ten minutes after the car has been driving, and it does it when its warmer out. The thigns i have tried replacing are....
the MAF, the air temp sensor, i have checked the spark plugs, the oil has been change the air filter has been changed aswell, before i start getting into more expensive things i was wondering if im just missing something, the fuel pressure is always at 40lbs being becuase i have 40lb injectors, the chip in it is set up for those injectors also. the oil pressure ranges between 25-75, but normally is at 50. I have a 160 degree thermo, and the fan is always on. the wires look fine, and the connections look good. Oh yeah and the engine has like 2000 miles on it. Any ideas why this is happening, It might be something obvious that i just havent thought of yet, or something more in depth. Any suggestions would be helpfull,

Thanks

No, it still happens on the way from Newhampshire today whihc is about a 2 hour drive it was pretty bad aswell, it seems to be worse when it is humid out, not to mention i dont think that lifters are getting enough oil becuase they tap a lot some days but not others.

Here's my story , after the timing chain install I put on a new crank sensor from Oreillys, lasted 200 mile and the car started dying after it warmed up let the car cool down and the car would start again, this got worse till it finally would not start. Everybody said check the crank sensor , which I knew it was good I just replaced it WRONG ! put another Oreillys one on and it ran well for about 150 miles and then last night I was on the highway as you describe it started missing or skipping finally it got worse and die again last night. let the car cool down it would start again.

This time I'm going with a GM one , don't know if that is your problem or not good luck we need it LOL

hahaha, I know huh, my brother had a ford t bird turbo that skipped like a flat rock going across water at 100 mph, so when i bought this i said to myself, as long as it doesnt skip, 200 miles after i bought boom it skipped. But thanks, i work at an autoparts store so ill get one cheap from Wells.

Found my problem this time was not the crank sensor but , on the cam sensor the wheel that spins under the cap had came loose , put locktite on the bolt and tighten it up and it fired up !

But skipping or missing was the first sympton this time , might want to check it. Good luck

insane6...just wanted to compliment you for making an effort to post your findings. Lots of folks tend to throw out their probs and get various suggestions, but then don't bother to post the ultimate solution(s).

Thanks, 19gn87

Had the same problem about 2 weesk ago
No spark, no fire, it was the crank sensor, this time it was that interupter wheel under the cam sensor cap came loose.
Now I just hope it runs longer than 2 weeks this time. LOL
