Just wondering if there is a big advantage using both (i.e. burnout with a little pool of VHT in front of slicks)? The track isn't prepared with VHT or any other traction enhancer. Any suggestions?

Probably a better way is to use something like "Tire Bite". You brush this on your slicks. It takes a couple days cure time and maybe 2-3 coats.
Did this on an old pair of Hoosier slicks and they stuck better than any tire since.
