How true is this statement? I wanted to go with a TE6E-1 or TE45-A. Now will this be a streetable turbo as in taking long trips everyone once in awhile and going to work and school with it in the summer. I plan on running a 3500 stall too. Just want some opinions from people who run these or close to these mods. Thanks :)

A smaller turbo spools a lil quicker, and will make the car act more like a BBC, then a turbo'd v6.

One thing to consider with the bigger turbos is that you need to have enough injector to really be able to use it. And the larger injectors take more effort to get CORRECT.

I have a, 4.1L, TA-61, with 60 PPH injectors, stock converter, that is just plan fun to take on trips, ie I rather routinely take 500 mile trips with it. And with a Bst Contlr on the dash, I can back off from stun mode with just a twist of the dial.

And, with something like a 45 on a trip you'd really want an excellent Lock-up converter, IMO. On long hills and grades, and less then flat roads, something like a 911 or Yank really has nicer manners then some of the others, IMO.

I think a 45, with 72s, Translator Plus with an Extreme Extender chip, and a 3,500 stall Yank would be pretty civilized. I've run a combination like this with my WB on it, and it seemed like a real good out of the box combination.

You got awfully close to my set up Bruce. The TE45a is a very sweet turbo. Streetable for sure, and will pull low 10's all day long ( with the correct assortment of additional parts). Your right about getting the larger injectors dialed in ----- street manners suffer unless you do your home work and testing. With the injector needed to support the larger turbo, the injector becomes more of a issue w/ milage and drivability than does the turbo. I'm now going to the ME-R to get the Feeeeeeling back when the lights go green!

>>You can't go wrong with the Extender Extreme and those.<<

I agree with Bruce on that statement. I have been running that way for 2 years and am VERY happy with street manners. Bob has the 72`s down just right.

lol, why did this thread get a rating of one star? LOL.

Anyways, I planned on going with aggressive auto's Stage II package which comes with either TE45-A or TE63-1 turbo w/ 55 or 72lb injectors and red's chip for around 1460.00. Now I heard the 72lb injectors are good for street use but when it comes to high fuel pressure, the seimans 72lb injectors are much better. Is this true?

A 45 can put you well into the stage of MAF dropout, and the only cures for that are a MAFless ME, or Translator. If your using DS, when you see the wastegate control going bonkers, then you know you're going to have do one of the options I mentioned, because of the MAF dropping out. Actually it's the code overflowing.
