Wondering if anyone has done this? I like the looks of the fiberglass bumpers, and the idea of shedding some pounds.......But the drivers here are nuts, I have to drive the GN as if I were riding my CBR. I'm thinking I'd cut the stock steel bumper supports to where they would be as small as the export supports and then having all the holes in the bumper welded, smoothed and re-painted. It may save some weight and it'll still be stronger than the fiberglass, and of course the fit should be better. Any thoughts?

Expensive? .......I don't know how to weld I can strip the paint, and then re-paint it, just nothing in-between.

had a couple friend do the welding for me, so i have no idea what it would cost.

I did this to mine last year. Looks smooth, including the ruber strip in the center and all the license plate holes. It's a lot of work and I love the way it looks but probably would just buy the glass bumper if I was to do it again.

Smooth bumpbers

I looks awesome and here is my pics, I didn't do it but I did the same on my Nova. It looks like a lot of work. There were a ton of welded holes and the core is cut to the bumper brackets.
