Finally got around to dropping my oil pan yesterday. Thought I would share some pics. Notice how a hunk of the block is still bolted to the pan.

Broke # 2 rod which in turn took out #1. No knock, Good A/F ratio. I'm pretty sure I just exceeded the HP potential of the stock rods. Here's another.

Scott,

That is impressive, no one can ever say you do things half assed!

A set of bearings, a wisk broom, and some brake cleaner and you'll be fine.
And maybe some JB weld for the oilpan.

Holly cow...

Looks like Freddy Kruger from Nightmere on elm st wanted out of your oil pan in a hurry.

Never had it on a dyno, but it was definitely making power. The last few times to the track it became a consistent 9.8x car. The air was great the night it blew, it went about the 1200 ft. mark and coasted to a best ever of 9.79.

Yes, Racing a VERY fast EVO. It's mostly junk. Heads are still good... that's about it.

Youd think the pice of block still attached to the oil pan would be a big clue that not much was left ;)

28 psi. 100 octane pump gas + RAZOR alky.
I am in no way distraught about this motor, I literally beat the piss out of it for 3 years plus. The last two in the low tens with 12 passes in the nines. All with only two center billet caps. It gave me great service and when it broke, it broke in the finals of the local street car shoot out while coasting to the win.
I have a new RJC girdle, new RJC oil pan, CAT crank, and K1 rods. Still shopping for pistons and cam. I'm hopeing to have it running by the VEGAS event this fall, provided there is one.
