Speedo needle jumpin'

Any idea on how to lube a jumpy speedo needle? Tried diconnecting the cable by the powermaster and it didn't want to break loose. Any suggestions?

The procedure is on gnttype.org if anyone has it. You have to take the front dash apart I believe.

Just did mine a couple of weeks ago. Here's THE PROCEDURE I had saved from gnttype some time ago.
