My '87 dies under power. As soon as I start to get into it it breaks ups/misfires/sputters. It is bascially stock (KB chip and ram air) with 24000 miles. I have cahnged the plugs and wirs, but no improvement. The engine ground seems tight and and I appear to have good fuel pressure in these conditions. I am about to give and and sell as is!

Check your positive cable as well. Follow it from the bat term to the starter and ensure there are no nicks or gouges causing it to ground out on anything. As soon as you build power your engine rocks harder and will make the cable vibrate and possibly ground out on something like the starter shield (if there is an exposure or kink).

I changed the coil pack (my father had an NOS partl... he has 3 GNs and a T-type in the garage) but no improvement. I am going to swap the MAS later today.
