Stage 1 or 2 block ??

Need advise and parts for this block it is a 4.1 that is less than a 4.00 bore and has 1 sleeve getting ready to take it to the machine shop but would like some info first ,Did they make steel main caps from the factory ?? Is this block considered a stage 1 or 2?? It has the 14 head bolts but not the 4 bolt main caps. Looking for any stroker parts for a 4.1

That's a Stage 1 block. Most all Stage 1 blocks have cast iron caps. Most all stage 2's have steel caps except the early ones, they had 2 steel 4 bolt center caps, and the front and rear were cast iron.

There's a pretty big area in that block that was welded up. Better have it pressure tested.

Pressure and sonic test it.

#6 looks like it has a sleeve in it. Same cylinder that has the weld job.
