Hey guys,

As I mentioned in previous posts, I bought an 87 T with 70,000 miles last month. I had the following stuff done to the car:

3" downpipe and high-flow cat
93/94 octane Precision street chip
160 degree thermostat
Walbro 340 fuel pump and hot wire kit
New adjustable fuel regulator
New wastegate soleniod
New TCC soleniod
New Denso O2 sensor
New adjustable turbo actuator
New 8MM magnacore wires
New plugs
New black MAF pipe
New Belt
New PCV valve
New vacuum hoses
Washer pump
Oil change and filter
Fuel Filter
134A A/C conversion kit
Driver &passenger side breathers
Trans service
Seal rear main axle tube and service differential

So here's my problem. If the car sits in my garage for 4 or 5 days and then I try to start it, it is dead. The light under the hood still works and the interior lights as well. If I jump it for a second, it starts and runs no problem. This problem has happened twice so far.

Does this sound like a battery problem? It has a pep boys high performance battery but I have no idea how old it is.

What diagnostic would you recommend and if it is the battery, which replacement one should I get?

Thanks a lot,
Larry

It could very well be the battery is getting weak. Take it to Auto Zone or some place with a load tester and have the battery evaluated.

Does the car have a security system that interactswith/cuts-off the the ignition system? If so, (they use a relay) when the battery lowers a little, the security system relay for the ignition system/starter solenoid may not "fire" .
Could be a weak battery or diode, or whatever, in the alten. too.

Well I installed a new battery yesterday and the car started right up. Hopefully, this will be the answer and I will have no problems with my alternator.
