stock 87 boost psi

my car is pretty much stock,just a few boltons,i was wondering what the stock boost psi is,i havent been able to get it to 15,i could have sworn i read somewhere that stock is 15,i get about 13-14 when i nail it,if this is low then what should i look for,i think the wastegate vac line isdry rotted,would that cause the problem or would a leak in that mean wicked high boost,or could it be an internal leak on the wg,i have an adjustable wg to put on but i wana figure this problem out first and get new vac lines for it

Quick 85 nat:

13-14 seems about right to me......I'll bet you will want to get an adjustable wastegate actuator soon (boost is very addictive...)

Definiely replace those vac lines they are probably very old

Are you using the factory boost gauge or an aftermarket?

Factory gauge is inaccurate.

14-15 psi is fine for a stock GN.

Make sure you have a restrictor in the y-fitting for the hose that goes to the compressor outlet. I didn't have one and I lost a few pounds of boost. Also, make sure the resrictor orifice is the right size (0.05").

A leaking hose would send boost to whatever the wastegate is set for.
