What is the performance difference between the stock exhaust valve that has been back-cut versus a Manley or Ferrera exhaust valve? Flow #'s, etc.

TIA,

Keith

I'm not really sure there is a significant difference in performance between the stock undercut valves and the aftermarket ones. I'm sure someone else could discuss flow numbers and touch on the performance. But the reason i replied is because the stock GM valves are two piece. When the car starts getting faster, there is a chance that the valve could break which could damage a piston etc. The Manley Valves are much stronger. That is why i would use an aftermarket valve. Just my .02.

Try the Ferreas.Very well made.
I just bought a set for stock heads and they're real nice, just a step better than Manley in quality and finish.
The reason I went Ferrea, sight unseen?
A friend of mine races sprint cars.
The sprinters were tearing the heads off of the Manleys,so they switched to Ferrea.
No more problems.
Hope that helps.

I am not a source per-say but I can get them for you. The 6000 series runs $200.00 for a complete set. What I have in my heads;)

The reason I asked the question is because I am able to get a new set of the Ferrea 1.775 intake valves for $60.00. And I wanted to know if it was worth getting the exhaust valves also. The customer is on a budget and a local porter is doing the heads for free just to try and get his name out.

I guess I'll get a set of the 1.50 exhaust valves to match.
