I have the posi out and everything looks surprisingly good......
Last summer, the car would do the old one-wheel-peel more and more often.
I looked at the clutches and all seem to have the spiral design on them, none look that smoked.
The "S" spring in the center had wear marks on either side of it.
All bearings looked good.

What should I get to rebuild it?
Are there stiffer springs available, or should I stick with a stock one?

Once you get everything apart, you may notice that some of the clutches have their locating tabs broken off or cracked, but the clutch material will look fine. This was the case on mine, and another one I did.

The rebuild process isn't too bad, with the exception of getting the 'S' spring back in. Squeeze as many steel/clutch sets in as you can, and tension the 'S' spring as much as possible.

Contact Bill [(888) 870-0280, x214] at P&G for the clutch pack.

FYI, the best re-assembly procedure is to follow the GM service manual. It's pretty straightforward. If you do this correctly, the limited slip will be so tight that you can't grab the raised P.Side tire and turn it...at all. You'll be amazed.

g'luck...

Another thing to try with a weak posi is using RedLine 75W90NS. The NS stands for non slip. It will lock a worn posi up like glue. You may have to add one quart of redline and one of regular diff fluid to taylor the amount of lock up you want. With two quarts of NS it will feel like a spool. It lowered my 60 foot times from @1.68 to 1.53's.
