storing engine parts

What is the best way to store engine parts? I have shortblock parts that I dont want to get rusty or anything. Should I just lightly oil everything down and wrap it in plastic? Thanks for any tips.

Slather it in motor oil. Everywhere you can get it on the block. Plastic can sweat long term; good short term usage for dust but that's about it. I'd put the parts in cardboard boxes with old towels underneath to soak up the excess oil.
