One of my rear tires is rubbing on the rear inner fender lip.Is there a neater way to roll the lip other than to get a pair of vice grips and bend it up?Thanks

Are you serious,,, would you really use vice grips:eek:

I was thinking about it but thats why im asking for another solution.I was also thinking of just cutting it off but the rolling tool looks interesting.Any other suggestions out there.

Please rent the tool for $50 from Phil.. you cant go wrong.

Ty

Rent it! I did and it worked perfect. Still have trim and everything, you can't even tell

Rent the tool or do it the old school way and stick a baseball bat between the tire and the fender and roll the car back and forth while prying against the lip. I'd say rent the tool.

I did mine with the "wood baseball bat" method very very carfully and they came out nice but man it takes a lot of prying and pressure to do this. I was very concerned about putting a wave in the paint at the flare for the wheel opening:eek: . If I could go back I would definently use the tool.

GNAT87 told me he bent the lip with the trim in place...maybe he could give you more info off line. Bob K

Vice grips??? Why didn't I think of that Ty....A hammer seemed to work much better :D

Brings back memories of me trying to get those 315s to fit in the 95TA...it took a die grinder, a cutoff saw, sledge hammer, and then a welder to weld up the seam created from cutting out a rib in the inner fender and then folding it back on itself using the sledge hammer ..oh and cutting off the bump stop :D

Just kidding on the hammer and GN :) but I was waiting for someone to say it

Noooo :( Would have been 5 years in a row, but just can't justify spending the $$ this year as I know I'll get there and want to buy a bunch of stuff I don't need just to pack it in the garage. My bud I usually go with can't do it this year either...maybe next year as it will be the 30th year!
