suggestions for new tires?

I'm looking to buy new tires for my gn. I have 16" gnx like wheels. Need suggestions for new tires (non drag radial). Any words on bridgestone potenza's?

I run Dunlop SP8000's on my Pontiac 255/50. They are Z rated and handle good. They seem to wear fine even open road racing. I paid about $125 a tire.

I second the Dunlop SP8000's, have them on the TTA and very impressed with the tread design and handling, and treadwear compared to the BFG Z rated tires on my 95 TA. They grip to the road pretty well too on those full throttle take offs

By chance, I purchased a couple Sumitomo HTRZs, 255 50 16s. I was very surprised at how well they hook on the street. I just ordered my third set at $91 each plus shipping. Great value. They are W rated which is 168 mph. They last me about 25,000 miles. Check tire rack for specs.

Just for your information, I run 225 60 16s on the front which are about the same height. They are $57 ea. Yokohamas. Right now they have 45,000 miles on them and still don't look like they need to be replaced. They'll easily go another 15,000 miles.
